The Aston Martin Virage made its debut at the Birmingham Motorshow in 1988. Designed by John Heffernan and Ken Greenley, it was praised for its fresh contemporary styling. It proved to be quieter and more comfortable than the earlier V8s and was indeed the first truly new Aston Martin in nearly 20 years. The new V8 engine was a development of the tried and tested Tadek Marek designed 5.3 litre V8, but with new cylinder heads from Callaway sporting four valves per cylinder for better breathing and to increase power. This stunning 1990 example was first supplied by Palm Beach Motor Cars in Birmingham, Alabama and subsequently acquired by a private collector in the Netherlands in 2011, where it remained, on static display, until 2022. The car was then consigned to Aston Martin specialists Pugsey & Lewis in Kent, where it was the subject of around £40,000 worth of recommissioning and mechanical works. In 2025/26 the car has further benefited from additional works, new fuel pump and filter, all new plugs & leads and a professional machine polish. The car is a stunning example of the Virage, which is finished in Suffolk red with magnolia leather, piped red and Alcantara headlining. The Virage would be the last of the Hand Built Aston Martins. The Virage was replaced by the steel bodied DB7 in 1995 after going through various iterations. Offered complete with the the cherished registration G28AMV, owners manual, AM Heritage certificate, build card, a fitted AM Car Cover, all invoices detailing the works carried out since 2022 and two sets of keys.
